This year brought new faces to JMS. Once of those is Mrs. Amy Hedstrom, our Ag teacher. We’re very happy to welcome her to Jenkins. It’s only the second week of school and students in Agrisciences classes are already hard at work.
All 6 classes visited the Ag Farm and completed a scavenger hunt as well as making a to-do list and a wish list for their farm. Both lists were very long. “We have very driven and goal oriented students!” explained Mrs. Hedstrom.
Mrs. Hedstrom went on to explain, “The to-do list involved a lot of cleaning and getting the property ready for Fair animals like a pig and steer. The wish list included items like being able to use the green house, growing a vegetable to take home, and having a chapter steer or heifer.
We are ready to start our cleaning projects on Thursday.”
Ag is a very popular elective class and our FFA club is one of the best around. We’re looking forward to seeing their successes this year.
