Superintendent Surrency recommended an early release day for August 21st to the Putnam County School Board due to the solar eclipse occurring during the hours of 1pm and 5pm, the time students would normally be returning home from school. His recommendation has been approved. The Superintendent is concerned about the possible health effects the solar eclipse will have on students who look at the eclipse. It is important for parents to make arrangements to keep their children safe during this period of time.
