Welcome parents and students,

As you can see, JMS Eagles.com has a new look for the new school year.  We’ve made some updates to ensure that we can bring you the most current information as quickly as possible. 

This year all open house dates are scheduled before the first day of school, and a book fair has been scheduled on those dates as well. Please refer to the times below, or check the calendar for times and dates. Also, schedules will be available for pick-up on Aug. 18th from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.

  1. Monday, Aug. 18th - Schedule pick-up available from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.
  2. Monday, Aug. 18th 6th Grade open house from 6:00-7:30 pm in the gym.  Book Fair will run from 5:00-8:00 pm.
  3. 7th & 8th Grade Open House cancelled due to weather.  Tuesday, Aug. 19th - 7th and 8th Grade open house at 6:00-7:30 pm in the gym. Book Fair will run from 5:00 - 8:00 pm.  A Parent Night for parents of 7th and 8th graders has been scheduled for August 28 beginning at 7 PM in the Cafeteria.  Parents will be able to meet their child’s teachers.  This is a meet and greet only, not conferences.  If you would like a conference with your child’s teachers, please call the Guidance Office.  The Book Fair will also be available, so don’t forget to stop by.
  4. Wednesday, Aug. 20th - First day of school
  5. Friday, Aug. 29th - Book Fair ends

Don’t forget to stop by the book fair and support our media center. The new Sunshine State Reader’s list of titles will be available.

The Book Fair is Coming!

art_ms_logo_alt.gifLast year’s Back-To-School Book Fair was such a huge success, we’re going to do it again! 

On August 18th, the Library Media Center will open its doors at 5 PM for this event.  All students and parents are invited to attend.  art_ms_sticker.gif

The 6th Grade Open House will start in the gym at 6 PM.  Parents and students can come to the library first or attend Open House at 6 PM, visit teachers and then come to the Library Media Center to visit the Book Fair.  The Library Media Center will remain open until 8 PM to give everyone an opportunity to see the wonderful selection of books on hand.

The Book Fair will also be open from 5 PM- 8 PM on August 19th.  Open House for 7th and 8th graders will also take place beginning at 6 PM in the gym.  This has been rescheduled for August 28th.

The Book Fair will be open until August 29th and students will be visiting through their Language Arts classes.

We look forward to seeing you in the Library Media Center.  Support your school and get some great books too! 

New Sunshine State Reader’s List Now Available

Just released! Check out the 2009 Sunshine State Young Reader’s Award titles. Some of these titles are already available in the library, so get an early start!

P.E. T-Shirts Available Soon

JMS PE shirts will be available this year. The t-shirts will be available when you pick up your schedules, at open house and after school starts. The shirts will cost $5.00, and we would like to encourage all students to wear one of the shirts as their dress out shirt this year to show pride in their school.

New Bill Board Features JMS Student’s Artwork

Check out the new billboard!The next time you drive on Highway 19, take a look at the huge new sign featuring the artwork of JMS student, Britney Howard. The billboard is near Bramlitt’s Plumbing and Electric where HWY 19 intersects St. Johns Avenue on the right if you are headed toward Highway 20.

Sponsored by SWAT (Students Working Against Tobacco), the sign shows the harmful effects of smoking. Britney Howard
